Baskit
AI-enabled platform for offline distribution networks.
About Baskit
Founded in 2023, Baskit is a distribution enablement company building an infrastructure layer for offline supply chains in Southeast Asia. The company was co-founded by CEO Yann Schuermans, whose background includes roles at AB InBev and experience in M&A, and whose family has been in the supply chain sector for generations. The founding team also includes Abhishek Pansari (COO) and Yoonjung Yi (CBO), who both have extensive backgrounds in the FMCG sector.
Baskit addresses the highly fragmented, undigitized, and financially isolated distribution landscape in Southeast Asia, where over 90% of trade still occurs through offline channels. This environment creates significant barriers for small and mid-sized brands in the FMCG, beauty, and personal care sectors to reach consumers effectively. The company's model is to digitize and empower existing middlemen—distributors and wholesalers—rather than replacing them, leveraging their local relationships and infrastructure.
The company's AI-enabled platform integrates software, operational tools, payments, and embedded credit into a single ecosystem. It provides brands and distributors with tools for inventory management, order processing, and gives them visibility into network performance. A core component of Baskit's business model is the integration of financial services. By offering embedded credit and inventory financing, it addresses critical liquidity and cash flow challenges for distributors. Baskit partners with financial institutions like HSBC and payment networks like Visa to facilitate these services.
Since its launch, Baskit has partnered with over 60 brands and works with hundreds of distributors and wholesalers in Indonesia, including major retailers like Alfamart, Circle K, and Boots. The company has reported achieving profitability and in April 2026, announced the first close of a $4.4 million Series A funding round led by Cento Ventures, bringing its total equity raised to nearly $10 million. This funding is aimed at strengthening its presence in Indonesia and expanding into the Philippines.
