Axiom Security, an Israeli startup established in 2021, is positioning itself to address the complexities of identity and access management (IAM) within modern cloud environments. The company was founded by Itay Mesika (CEO) and Ilan Dardik (CTO), who bring over two decades of combined experience in development, security, and operations. Their collaboration led to the creation of a platform designed to modernize privileged access management (PAM) for the cloud era. In December 2022, Axiom Security emerged from stealth with $7 million in seed funding. The round was led by S Capital VC and included participation from notable angel investors.

The firm operates on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, offering a platform that helps organizations manage and secure access to their cloud infrastructure. The core of their business is to automate and streamline permissions, moving away from traditional, often cumbersome, PAM systems that are ill-suited for dynamic cloud and remote work landscapes. Axiom targets a wide range of clients, including those in the technology, finance, and healthcare sectors, by helping them improve security, accelerate access for their teams, and simplify compliance with standards like SOX, SOC 2, and ISO.

Axiom's platform is built around the principle of "least privilege," aiming to eliminate standing privileges through a just-in-time (JIT) access model. This allows users, such as engineering and development teams, to request and receive temporary, fine-grained access to specific resources precisely when needed. Key features include a self-service portal for access requests, automated workflows that can approve routine requests or delegate sensitive ones, and "Access Scopes" that control which resources users can see and request. The platform integrates with common collaboration tools like Slack and Jira, as well as major identity providers and cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, to create a more seamless experience.
