About Avectra

Founded in 1993, Avectra carved a substantial niche in the information technology sector by providing on-demand membership management software solutions. The company was headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with regional offices in Chicago and Maitland, Florida. Avectra's business model was centered on software subscriptions, which constituted its largest source of revenue. By 2013, the company had achieved approximately $34 million in recognized revenue.

Avectra's core offering was its netFORUM product line, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system designed for associations and non-profits. The suite included netFORUM Enterprise for large organizations to manage member profiles, communications, and transactions, and netFORUM Team and Pro Editions for small to mid-sized organizations. The company also developed Avectra Social CRM, which integrated social media interactions into its donor management and fundraising software to help organizations identify and engage supporters. This platform featured a proprietary analytics tool called the A-Score™. To expand its social networking capabilities, Avectra acquired web-development firm NFI Studios in October 2010, integrating NFI's white-label social networking platform, MemberFuse, as an add-on to the netFORUM products.

In October 2007, Avectra secured its first outside funding, a Series A round of $26.5 million from Sterling Venture Partners and HarbourVest Partners. This investment fueled its growth and expansion. On August 21, 2013, Avectra was acquired by Abila, a provider of software for nonprofit organizations and government agencies, which itself was a portfolio company of Accel-KKR. At the time of the acquisition, Richard Davis was the CEO of Avectra. The deal positioned the combined entity as a major technology provider in the nonprofit space, serving a customer base of 8,000 organizations. Avectra's core product, netForum, continues to be developed and offered by Community Brands, which later acquired Abila.
