Autopedia's history began in mid-2014 with the establishment of the BidWin car auction in Jakarta. A significant milestone occurred in 2019 when the company acquired a 51% stake in PT JBA Indonesia, a prominent automotive auction pioneer with Japanese origins, leading to the creation of the JBA BidWin Auction brand, known as "JBA". This acquisition solidified its position as a major player in Indonesia's auction market. The company went public in January 2022.

The business operates through several key segments. JBA is its auction business for both corporate and individual clients. Caroline.id serves as the online-to-offline (O2O) platform for buying, selling, and trading used cars, featuring physical showrooms for customer access. Cartalog is an AI-powered price engine that provides market price estimations for used cars, supporting the pricing decisions across all of Autopedia's business units and is also offered as a subscription service. Additionally, the company operates MotoGadai, a vehicle pawn service to provide working capital for dealers. Revenue is generated from auction fees, vehicle sales through its retail arm, and subscriptions to its data services.
