With a research and development center in Shanghai, the company was founded by a team with deep roots in China's aerospace sector, including core members from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Group. This experienced team also includes experts from leading communication companies like Huawei and ZTE, combining aerospace heritage with advanced telecommunications expertise.

Laser Starcom specializes in creating networking solutions for space-based laser communications, a critical technology for high-speed data transmission between satellites and from satellites to the ground. The company's business model is centered on the sale of its laser communication terminal products, components, and complete optical communication networking solutions. Its client base spans multiple domains, including operators of low-orbit satellites, aviation, maritime shipping, and land vehicles, as well as the 5G and 6G communication sectors.

The firm's product line includes two-dimensional turntable and pointing mirror laser communication terminals, telescopes, and tracking cameras. A key differentiator is the significant reduction in terminal weight, which has been compressed from tens of kilograms to just a few, enhancing the application benefits for satellite orbit resources.
