Auric Solar, LLC, founded in 2010 by Jess Phillips and Trent Vansice, began its journey in a garage in South Jordan, Utah. Initially named SolarTek Solutions, the company rebranded to Auric Solar in March 2015 and later to Auric Energy in 2019 to reflect its broadening scope of services. The company established itself as a full-service provider of solar power systems for both residential and commercial clients.

The firm's business model was centered around providing end-to-end solar solutions. This included custom system design, engineering, and installation of photovoltaic panels for rooftops and ground-mounted systems. Auric handled the entire project development process, from conducting onsite analysis and securing local permits to managing tax credit paperwork and setting up net metering with utility companies. Post-installation, the company offered monitoring and maintenance services to ensure plant efficiency. To make solar energy more accessible, Auric provided financing options, often with no upfront costs, alongside guidance on securing local and federal tax incentives.

Beyond core solar installations, Auric Energy's service portfolio expanded to include battery storage solutions, backup generators, EV charging add-ons, and whole-home energy monitoring systems. This expansion was part of a strategy to become a comprehensive energy developer. A significant milestone was the acquisition of Solaroo Energy in 2019, a move that strengthened its market position in Utah and Colorado by adding commercial-scale projects and a residential installation pipeline. Despite its rapid growth, which earned it recognition on three consecutive Inc. 5000 lists, Auric Solar filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations in May 2020.
