The firm developed a gamified, HIPAA-compliant personal health management platform designed to empower consumers to take an active role in their health. Its primary product, Zensey, allowed users to create personalized lifestyle plans, track their progress toward health goals, connect and compete with friends, and earn rewards for healthy behaviors. The business model centered on collaborating with health insurance payers and providers to increase patient engagement. The platform integrated with devices from partners like Fitbit, Withings, and Polar to incorporate user data. To fuel product development and expansion, Audax Health raised a total of $55.9 million over three funding rounds.

The company's trajectory shifted significantly in February 2014 when Optum, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, acquired a majority stake in the firm. Following the acquisition, Audax continued to operate as a freestanding subsidiary, with Grant Verstandig remaining as CEO and David Ko, formerly of Zynga and Yahoo, serving as COO. Subsequently, Audax Health was rebranded and rolled into Rally Health. UnitedHealth Group fully acquired Rally Health in 2017, and Verstandig became the Chief Digital Officer for UnitedHealth Group, a role he held until late 2021.
