The company was founded in 2013 by Chen Weiyu and Zhang Wenjian, launching its online service in May 2014. The business model enables private car owners to monetize their idle vehicles by renting them to a community of pre-screened users, positioning itself as a cost-effective alternative to traditional car rental services with prices cited as 30% to 50% lower.

The platform's revenue is primarily generated through commission fees on rental transactions, alongside service and insurance fees. Atzuche forged a strategic partnership with China Pacific Insurance to provide a customized insurance system for the car-sharing model, offering coverage up to CNY 2.05 million. This collaboration was a key component of its B-series financing in 2015. A notable feature is the optional "KKbot," a smart box providing GPS, vehicle diagnostics, and analysis of driver behavior, which allows car owners to monitor their vehicles and assess renters.

Atzuche facilitates the entire rental process, from mobile-based booking and real-time vehicle availability to a 24-hour car pick-up and delivery service. The company differentiates itself by listing a higher proportion of unique and luxury vehicles compared to competitors. Since its inception, Atzuche has secured significant funding across multiple rounds, including a $10 million Series A in 2014, a nearly $47 million Series B in 2015, and subsequent Series C and D rounds, with its latest announced funding being a Series D in December 2020. Its investor base includes prominent firms like Matrix Partners China, Ceyuan Ventures, and Shanghai Ivy Capital. By 2017, the platform reported operations in 40 cities with over 5 million registered users and 300,000 available vehicles.
