Atreus Systems was a supplier of IP voice and advanced IP service provisioning software, founded in 1999 in Ottawa, Canada. The company specialized in developing provisioning, activation, and customer self-management software for converged IP services, including VoIP, Mobile, Messaging, IPTV, and IMS for service providers. Its core product, the IP Service Provisioning Solution, delivered pre-integrated and automated provisioning and configuration for a variety of network devices, enabling service providers to deploy offerings and turn up subscribers quickly. Atreus served a global client base of service providers, including notable customers like Qwest, TELUS, Bell Aliant, and Cincinnati Bell.

The business model centered on providing these Operation Support Systems (OSS) to help telecommunication carriers manage their IP service portfolios, integrate with billing and customer care systems, and automate the delivery of services to their consumer, business, and wholesale customers. Over its lifetime, the company raised $48.6M in funding from investors such as BDC Capital, Blueprint Ventures, and Meritage Funds. On April 18, 2008, Atreus Systems was acquired by Sonus Networks (now Ribbon Communications), a firm specializing in IP communications infrastructure. The acquisition was a strategic move for Sonus to expand its access services portfolio by integrating Atreus's expertise in OSS and service provisioning to simplify the deployment and management of next-generation communication services for carriers worldwide.
