About Asoview

Asoview Inc. operates one of Japan's largest online booking platforms for tours, activities, and leisure experiences. The company was founded in March 2011 by Tomohisa Yamano, who serves as the Representative Executive Officer & CEO. Initially established as Catalyzm Inc., it was rebranded to Asoview Inc. in March 2015. Yamano, a Meiji University graduate with prior experience at Recruit, started the company to address how people spend their leisure time, building his initial partnerships through direct, personal engagement with business owners.

The company's primary service is the "Asoview!" platform, a booking site and mobile app for holiday activities across Japan and, more recently, overseas. It offers over 600 types of experiences at more than 10,000 locations, including outdoor sports, hands-on workshops, amusement parks, aquariums, and day-use hot springs. The platform serves a broad consumer base, primarily targeting the domestic Japanese market of local residents and tourists. Asoview's business model is multifaceted, generating revenue through commissions on bookings, subscription packages for business partners, and advertising. The company has achieved significant growth, reaching over 10 million registered members by November 2023.

In addition to its consumer-facing platform, Asoview provides digital transformation (DX) solutions for the tourism and leisure industry through its 'Urakata Series' of B2B SaaS products. These tools, including 'Urakata Ticket' for digital ticketing and 'Urakata Reservation' for managing online bookings, are used by over 4,000 businesses to improve operational efficiency. The company has also expanded its offerings to include "Asoview! Gift," an experiential gift platform, and "Asoview! Furusato Nozei," a hometown tax donation site specializing in experience-based gifts. Asoview has raised a total of $33.2M over several funding rounds, with its Series E in December 2021 raising 3 billion yen from investors including Fidelity and Mitsui Fudosan.
