About Ashcroft Terminal

Ashcroft Terminal operates as a strategically significant inland port facility in British Columbia, providing critical infrastructure and services for the logistics and supply chain sectors. The company was established in 1997 by Robert Landucci, who acquired the land recognizing its unique potential.

Located approximately 300 kilometers east of Vancouver, the terminal is uniquely positioned on a 320-acre industrial property where the mainlines of both Canadian Pacific (CP) and Canadian National (CN) railways converge. This dual rail access, a rare feature in Canada, allows the terminal to serve as a pivotal link for shippers, manufacturers, and producers moving goods between the Port of Vancouver and markets across North America. The business model centers on providing fee-based services that enhance supply chain efficiency and resiliency. These services include railcar storage, transloading between trucks and trains, materials handling, and logistics solutions for a diverse client base in sectors such as agriculture, mining, forestry, and oil and gas.

A significant milestone occurred in 2018 when PSA International, a global port operator based in Singapore, acquired a 60% majority stake in the terminal, marking PSA's first entry into the North American market. This partnership aimed to leverage PSA's global expertise to expand Ashcroft's capacity and international reach. The Landucci family retained a stake in the business, with Kleo Landucci, Robert's daughter, taking on the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Further diversifying its ownership, Canadian Tire Corporation acquired a 25% equity interest in 2021, a move intended to improve its own supply chain performance and reduce carbon emissions by shifting more volume from road to rail. PSA International remains the majority shareholder and operator, with CrescentView Investments holding the remaining 15%.

The terminal's service offerings are comprehensive. It handles a wide array of products, from consumer goods and bulk commodities like grain and fertilizers to industrial products such as lumber, pulp, and fuels. The facility provides infrastructure for transloading, railcar storage with over 60,000 feet of track, warehousing, and railcar inspections and repairs. By serving as an inland hub, Ashcroft Terminal helps alleviate congestion at marine ports, acts as a buffer during supply chain disruptions like floods or strikes, and provides a more efficient, cost-effective route for preparing goods for import or export. In a key strategic partnership, Ashcroft Terminal and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority are collaborating to build and operate new rail infrastructure to further support capacity growth and reduce bottlenecks in the vital Asia-Pacific Gateway trade corridor.
