Arga Labs provides a validation framework for AI agents, designed to automate the testing of AI-generated code. Founded in 2025 by Phillip Li and Akira Tong, the San Francisco-based company is a Y Combinator alum from the Spring 2026 batch.

The founders bring relevant industry experience to the firm. CEO Phillip Li studied Cognitive Systems and Data Science at UBC and previously developed an internal tool at Amazon to automate complex engineering workflows. CTO Akira Tong is a UBC graduate with prior experience as a software development engineer at Stripe and a quantitative analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Arga's platform integrates with tools such as Slack, Grafana, and Jira to validate AI code changes. The system works by deploying changes to a staging environment, running relevant tests, and making API calls until the tests pass. This process allows engineers to ship features and fix production issues without extensive manual testing. The workflow involves creating a context pack from a client's codebase and documentation, generating a test plan, and then allowing an AI agent to implement the changes and write tests. The platform then validates the code in a staging environment. Arga offers solutions for both new feature shipment and incident response.
