Aqua Medical is a clinical-stage medical technology company in Pleasanton, California, advancing Endoscopic Metabolic Restoration for Type 2 diabetes. Its proprietary Radiofrequency Vapor Ablation (RFVA) system, which uses heated water vapour delivered through the working channel of a standard endoscope, is FDA-cleared for ablation in the gastrointestinal tract, including Barrett's esophagus. The company is now developing the investigational Proximal Intestinal Mucosal Ablation (PIMA) procedure, which treats targeted mucosa in the proximal small intestine as a minimally invasive, device-based alternative to lifelong drug therapy or surgery.
