Anubal Fusion is pursuing an inertial confinement fusion approach, which utilizes high-energy lasers to heat proton-boron fuel pellets to achieve a fusion reaction. A distinguishing feature of their design is the planned use of a single powerful laser beam, in contrast to the multiple-beam systems commonly used in the field. The company operates in a capital-intensive sector, engaging in research and development to make fusion commercially viable. To accelerate its R&D, Anubal Fusion has formed strategic academic partnerships with institutions like the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and IIT Madras.
