Developed by Orchestro.ai, the platform functions as a trust and alignment layer that integrates with an organization's existing technology stack. Instead of developing large language models, the company's software sits on top of existing AI systems to help organizations align automated decision-making with business priorities, governance standards, and stakeholder expectations. This is intended to address a market need for more controlled, transparent, and accountable AI deployment.

The company was founded in August 2023 by Shekhar Natarajan, who also serves as the CEO of Orchestro.ai. Natarajan has a 25-year career in senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies including Walmart, The Walt Disney Company, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Target, and American Eagle Outfitters. At Walmart, he grew the grocery delivery business from $30 million to $5 billion. Natarajan's personal journey, from growing up in poverty in South Central India to his extensive corporate experience, shaped his vision for creating a more humane AI. This led him to develop Angelic Intelligence, a framework he has protected with over 70 patents.

The platform's architecture features a "Moral Cortex Layer" (MCL), which acts as a programmable ethics engine to introduce "ethical speed bumps" when decisions have moral consequences, forcing the system to pause and reflect. It also includes Human-Centered Governance (HCG) to maintain human oversight and Human Signal Intelligence (HSI) to learn from instances where human judgment overrides algorithms for a better outcome. The system employs 27 specialized AI agents called "Digital Angels," each representing a cross-cultural virtue like compassion or justice, to deliberate on decisions. The platform is being offered to enterprises, governments, and institutions worldwide, operating on a token-based usage model that allows clients to scale based on demand. Early adopters include a global nonprofit marketplace and workforce planning systems for retail and restaurant operators, with pilot programs underway in logistics, healthcare, and workforce management. The company secured $15 million in seed funding to support its global expansion, with a focus on the Middle East.
