Amenitiz, a Barcelona-based technology company, provides a centralized operating system for the independent hospitality sector, targeting small to medium-sized hotels, B&Bs, and vacation rentals. Founded in 2017 by Alexandre Guinefolleau (CEO), Emmanuelle Guinefolleau (CRO), and Frédéric Cadet, the company emerged from the founders' desire to create an all-in-one platform to simplify hotel management. Alexandre Guinefolleau's background includes studies at the prestigious hotel school in Lausanne, providing foundational industry knowledge, while both he and Frédéric Cadet are graduates of the Le Wagon coding bootcamp, which equipped them with the technical skills to build the platform. The company operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business model, charging clients a monthly subscription fee based on the number of rooms and services utilized. Its primary objective is to empower independent hoteliers, who often rely on a patchwork of complex legacy systems, to streamline operations and increase direct bookings, thereby reducing their dependency on costly online travel agencies (OTAs). The market opportunity is significant, with over 80% of Europe's 700,000 hospitality properties being independent establishments with fewer than 50 rooms. Often described as a 'Shopify for hotels', Amenitiz offers an integrated suite of tools. This includes a user-friendly website builder with an integrated booking engine, a channel manager to synchronize availability and rates across over 120 OTAs, and a core Property Management System (PMS) for daily operations like guest management, invoicing, and communication. The platform also features AmenitizPay, a module for automating and securing online and on-site payments. Significant milestones include raising a €6.5 million seed round in late 2021, followed by a landmark $30 million Series A round in April 2022, the largest ever for a SaaS company in Spain at the time. In October 2022, Amenitiz acquired Ododo, a training platform for hoteliers, to further enhance its value proposition.
