About al+

alt Inc. is a Japanese company that developed and distributed Personal Artificial Intelligence (P.A.I.®) and AI clone technology. Founded in November 2014 by Kazutaka Yonekura, the company aimed to free people from unproductive labor by creating AI clones and "P.A.I." (Personal Artificial Intelligence). The company went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Growth Market in October 2024.

The company's product lineup included AI GIJIROKU, a service that used AI to create summaries of meetings, which reportedly accounted for about 88% of the company's total revenue in 2024. Other offerings included altBrain, AI Call Center, and CLONEdev, a system for creating digital clones of users. They also provided CloneM&A, an AI matching system that generated a clone of a seller company to virtually meet with potential buyer company clones to find optimal candidates for mergers and acquisitions. The company's business model focused on providing AI solutions to a range of industries, including IT, finance, construction, logistics, media, manufacturing, retail, and service industries.

In April 2025, suspicions of accounting fraud surfaced, leading to an investigation by Japan's Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission. A third-party investigation revealed that the company had overstated its sales by approximately ¥11.9 billion over four years through fictitious round-trip transactions and had falsified documents for its stock listing application. Following the scandal, founder Kazutaka Yonekura resigned as president in late July 2025, and he and other former executives were arrested in October 2025. The company filed for bankruptcy protection in July 2025 and was delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange at the end of August 2025.
