Airwayz, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, develops a cloud-based Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) platform designed to safely orchestrate multi-fleet drone operations within urban, industrial, and port environments. Utilizing advanced AI and dynamic USSP/UTM algorithms, the platform offers real-time tactical deconfliction, live data telemetry, mission control, and integration with existing aviation systems, such as weather, GIS, and harbour-master services. Airwayz has been deployed in critical infrastructure such as the Port of Rotterdam, where it coordinates heterogeneous drone fleets performing tasks like inspection, logistics, and emergency response—scaling airspace management to thousands of concurrent flights. The company leverages autonomous flight modes, swarm coordination, and interoperability with drone hardware from manufacturers like DJI and Parrot, aiming to pioneer fully autonomous BVLOS operations. With backing from investors including NextLeap Ventures, Iron Nation, and BuiltUp Ventures, Airwayz is scaling globally and planning expansion into the U.S., supported by grants from Space Florida and the Israel Innovation Authority. Their mission: to transform airspace into a managed digital asset and enable the commercial drone era.
