About Adzilla

Adzilla was an ad-tech company founded in 2003 by Robert Roker, who also served as the Chief Technology Officer. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, with a corporate office in Brisbane, California, the company developed a technology platform known as ZillaCasting. This system was designed as an online content management and distribution tool for Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

The core of Adzilla's business was to enable ISPs to deliver targeted advertising to publisher sites and advertising networks. It utilized action-based behavioral and demographic information to serve these targeted ads, operating within the service provider's existing network infrastructure. The company's primary market was the business-to-business media and information services sector.

From a financial perspective, Adzilla secured significant venture capital funding. In July 2007, it raised $10.2 million in a Series A round from investors Alloy Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. Despite this funding, the company's trajectory was short-lived. By October 2008, Adzilla filed for bankruptcy and ultimately went out of business, being classified as an acqui-hired company.
