Adaptyv Bio (Adaptyv Biosystems) is a Lausanne biotechnology company founded by Julian Englert and Daniel Nakhaee-Zadeh Gutierrez that builds an automated, AI-native wet lab for protein design validation. Customers and AI agents submit digital protein sequences via web or API; Adaptyv synthesises DNA in-house, expresses proteins cell-free and measures binding (SPR) with quality control so designs get real experimental data at scale—closing the gap between thousands of AI-proposed candidates and scarce traditional lab capacity. The public API integrates with tools including Boltz, Chai, Cradle, Tamarind, Latent Labs and Benchling; Adaptyv cites over 100 customers spanning frontier AI labs, top-five pharma and AI-native drug discovery, plus competitions such as Proteinbase. After an Ace Ventures-led €6.8 million seed in late 2024 (with ByFounders and Y Combinator), Adaptyv raised €34.35 million ($40 million) Series A in August 2026 led by Highland Europe with Ace, ByFounders and YC doubling down, to roughly triple lab capacity, open a London lab/office and expand into developability and harder modalities.
