Dr. Yang, the CEO, earned his PhD from the California Institute of Technology and possesses over 25 years of management experience in the IVD and life sciences sectors, including roles at GeneOhm Sciences, Helixis, Epic Sciences, and Bionano Genomics. Dr. Xiao, who received his PhD from the University of Central Florida, previously founded ANKON Medical Technologies, which launched the world's first Magnetically Controlled Capsule Endoscope System.

Accunome focuses on developing and providing fully automated molecular diagnostic solutions, including instruments and reagents, for severe infectious diseases and other critical illnesses. The company's primary clients are hospitals and clinical laboratories. Its business model follows a "razor and blade" strategy, where profits are primarily generated from the sale of proprietary test kits designed for its diagnostic instruments. The company has secured significant venture capital, with investors including BioMérieux, Sinovation Ventures, China Merchants Fund, and ZhenFund. In December 2022, Accunome entered a strategic partnership with BioMérieux that included an equity investment and an exclusive distribution agreement to accelerate growth in China.

The company's flagship product is the DXcellence System, a fully automated, sample-to-answer molecular diagnostics platform that integrates nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and detection.
