Absology

Absology is a South Korean company specializing in in-vitro immunodiagnostic medical devices. Founded in March 2017 by CEO Han Sang Jo, the company develops and manufactures point-of-care testing (POCT) platforms that provide quantitative analysis for various health conditions. Jo, who previously worked at the bio and medical device manufacturer NanoEntek, identified a market need for reliable monitoring and diagnostic products for chronic and cancerous diseases.

The company's core technology is its 'ABSOL' platform, a fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) and microfluidic-based POCT analyzer. This platform enables rapid and accurate quantitative diagnosis of diseases that traditionally required expensive, large-scale laboratory equipment. The product line includes 'ABSOL' for diagnosing conditions related to cancer, hormones, and emergency markers like cardiac arrest and sepsis, and the ultra-sensitive 'ABSOL HS' platform, which is used for early diagnosis of cardiac diseases and monitoring for conditions like Alzheimer's disease. In November 2025, Absology's on-site urine drug test kit, which can detect six different drug substances within ten minutes, was designated as an 'innovative product' by the South Korean Public Procurement Service.

Absology also caters to the veterinary market with 'Absol VET', a device for quantitatively testing for over 10 chronic diseases in pets. The business model focuses on developing and manufacturing these diagnostic platforms and their corresponding reagent kits, which cover a wide range of markers for urology, metabolism, thyroid, inflammation, and cardiac conditions. The company has secured significant export contracts in approximately 30 countries and is pursuing an IPO on the KOSDAQ market, with NH Investment & Securities as the underwriter. Absology has successfully raised capital through several funding rounds, including a 10 billion KRW Series B bridge round in December 2023 to support clinical development and global market expansion.
