EdTech is a growth sector

Global EdTech investment is on track to grow by 15% to $7.6 billion in 2020. EdTech mega-rounds are becoming a common occurrence. UK EdTech investment has grown 4.4x since 2014. London is the leading EdTech hub in Europe, featuring as the only European city in the global EdTech top 10 by investment. In terms of deal count, London ranks third, after San Francisco and New York, suggesting that with a relatively early-stage EdTech sector, the biggest growth for London EdTech still lies ahead.

London is home to Europe’s only EdTech unicorn, Learning Technologies Group, while also hosting many rising stars working right across the educational lifecycle.

Euan Blair, CEO and co-founder of WhiteHat, facilitating modern apprenticeships, said:”For many people having structured learning alongside their jobs, and the support of a community of apprentices, has been vital during lockdown. It’s one of the reasons we’ve continued to grow, both our own headcount, and the number of apprentices and employers we work with.”
