A record Q2 for French investment
France has posted its highest Q2 on record for VC funding, with €3.7 billion raised in the last three months. This puts France first among EU tech ecosystems for startup investment in Q2 2022.
Q2 investment was mostly driven by early and mid-stage rounds under €100M in size.
Looking at the first two quarters of 2022 combined, French startups have raised €8.9B, a 1.6x increase on H1 2021, and a new half yearly record. The ecosystem also grew in value, to more than €260B.

Of the 120 program winners, 40 companies are selected for the Next40/120. This is composed of: companies valued at one billion dollars or more, companies that have raised at least €100M in funds over the last 3 years, and companies with a business model validated by investors (fundraising) and customers (turnover growth).
