Dealroom x Slush 2021

As Slush returns in person in 2021, we’re excited to be heading to Helsinki for the world’s leading startup event, on 1st and 2nd December. With so much going on next week in the Finnish capital, we’ve put together a round up of where you can find us, and what you can expect.

Nov 30th

At the pre-Slush Investor Day, we’ll be hosting a roundtable on data-driven VC, and whether AI replace the investor gut feel. The idea of “Programmatic VC investing” seemed like a distant future, but is now becoming more widespread, coupled with a “sea of capital” being available and the rise of doing deals remotely. With a surge in data available on startups & scaleups thanks to players like Dealroom, can AI beat VC gut feel? What data matters, and where is programmatic investing heading? How important are investor reputation, trust, and the company building aspects? We want to discuss if and how data and AI are disrupting the industry that loves disruption the most. 

The Investor Day takes place 4pm-8pm at Hotel Kämp. The event is now full, but if you’ve got your ticket, join us for the roundtable.

Dec 1st

As Slush proper kicks off, you can join us for breakfast as we’ll discuss Nordic Impact Investing with Oslo Business Region. The breakfast meetup from 8am-10am will take place at the Siipi Valo side venue (no Slush pass required). The event will include a 25 minute panel moderated by Dealroom founder and CEO Yoram Wijngaarde, with representatives from TechBBQ (Denmark), Invest Stockholm, NewCo Helsinki, and Oslo Business Region.

Then after lunch, we’ll once again be teaming up with Sifted to discuss Taking Startup Europe to the Next Level. 1.30-3.30 in the Slush conference venue, with Inventure Partner Ekaterina Gianelli, CarboCulture Co-founder and CEO Henrietta Moon, moderated by Sifted Nordic reported Mimi Billing. Part of the European Startups project backed by the European Commission and European Parliament, we’ll take a look back at how far Europe’s startup economy has come in the past few years, and explore the concrete steps needed to take it to the next level. This presentation, panel and networking session will shine a light on how the trinity of startups, VC investors and policymakers can supercharge the tech ecosystem.
